What happens when a woman chooses to be seen again?

THE NAKED TRUTH is an ongoing photographic project created together with women who have experienced breast cancer. 

 

Each woman chooses to stand in front of the camera on her own terms.

She is not photographed as a patient.

She is photographed as herself.

 

Alongside each portrait, the women write in their own words about receiving the diagnosis, about the experience of being photographed and about seeing themselves through someone else's eyes.

Together, the photographs and the texts become quiet conversations about vulnerability, dignity and the body.

 

The project continues to grow.

Women from different countries are invited to participate, allowing the work to reflect both shared experiences and cultural differences surrounding breast cancer, femininity and visibility.

 

Prints are available for exhibitions and acquisition.

 

Whenever photographs are sold in connection with an exhibition, 50% of the proceeds are donated to a local organisation supporting women affected by breast cancer in that region.
