PUBLIC CONVERSATIONS
Conversation is another form of performance.
I create and host public conversations where art becomes a
meeting place for different voices, perspectives and practices.
The format may be a talk show, a moderated conversation, a
shared fika or an event that moves between conversation,
performance and music.
I am interested in what happens when people from different fields meet in the same room and when a conversation becomes part of the artistic experience.
A LA MAUD
A la Maud was a live talk show at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress bringing together art, dance, fashion, music and conversation.
Hosted and curated by Maud Karlsson Lima de Faria, each evening brought together guests from different fields and invited the audience
into conversations that were curious, playful, provocative and
open-ended.
Across eight editions, artists, dancers, musicians, designers, researchers and other voices met on stage. The programme often moved freely between conversation, live performance, music and unexpected encounters.
A la Maud was presented twice a year at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress between 2018 and 2022.
DANSFIKET
was an informal meeting place for contemporary dance, choreography and audiences in Uppsala.
Created and curated by Maud Karlsson Lima de Faria, the format brought artists and audiences together around performances, conversation and fika. National and international choreographers and dancers were invited to present their work in an intimate and accessible setting.
The format appeared in different places around Uppsala, from theatres and art museums to botanical gardens, and other unexpected spaces.
Between 2009 and 2018, Dansfiket hosted more than 30 national and international guests. The concept later developed into the broader talk show A la Maud at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.
HOSTING & MODERATION
Alongside my own formats, I have worked as a host, moderator and facilitator for cultural events, conferences and artistic programmes.
My experience as a performer, choreographer and artist informs the way I work with a room: reading an audience, creating presence, connecting different voices and allowing a programme to move between the planned and the unexpected.
Available for hosting, moderation and artistic facilitation.
